“Our Pride Shines” the Clarissa city logo, was designed in the 1980s by Joan Turner, a local artist. The barn quilt was painted by her daughter, Kelly Bican, and gifted to the Clarissa Museum and Senior Center.
The mission of the Clarissa Community Museum is to preserve and display historical artifacts and provide an interpretive center as a learning place where former, present and future generations of residents can be shown and taught the history of the Clarissa area.
The Clarissa Community Museum was established in 1984 and moved into a building owned by the City of Clarissa in 1987. When that building was condemned in 2008, all artifacts were moved into storage. The new building was opened in April of 2018.
