Cross & Crown
Motley Trail
Camp Shamineau
2345 Ridge Road, Motley MN 56466
While its history goes back to 1912, Camp Shamineau moved to its present site on Lake Shamineau in 1958. For over a hundred years our emphasis has been on introducing people to Jesus Christ, so we naturally chose the quilt pattern called Cross and Crown and augmented it with our logo, the stylized pine tree. Remembering Christ’s sacrifice for us on the cross is central to all we do and recognizing Him as Lord and Savior is celebrated in the depiction of the crown.
Camp Shamineau hosts thousands of kids each summer in a variety of weeklong camps and families are served in weekend family camps. Throughout the school year Camp Shamineau provides retreats for youth groups, children’s groups, men, women, Fathers and Daughters, Fathers and Sons, Mothers and Daughters, Quilters, and many school groups.
Barn Quilt was designed and painted by Shamineau staff and volunteers.
