Barn quilts are quilt squares painted on wood and then mounted on a sturdy, outdoor structure. It is not an entire quilt but generally only a single quilt block. The size of the squares varies, but usually, they measure 8’ x 8’ when on a barn, 4’ x 4’ on a smaller building, and even 2’ x 2’ for a garden post.
